How to Create a New Virtual Volume in 3PAR

July 16, 2017 DbAppWeb Admin

When we need extra disks or storage on the servers then we can add the physical disks to the server or we can add the disks from our SAN storage systems like 3PAR, MSA etc. To add a disk to a server first we have to create a new logical volume on SAN and after that, we have to export that volume to the server. We can export the virtual volumes on physical machines as well as virtual machines. In this post, I have created a new virtual volume on 3PAR SAN 7400.

Create a New Virtual Volume in 3PAR

Follow the steps given below to create a new virtual volume in HPE 3PAR SAN.

  • Login to HPE 3PAR Management Console (IMC), default username and password for HPE 3PAR Management Console (IMC) are 3paradm and 3pardata.
    01 Start 3PAR Management Console
