StoreServ Management Console (SSMC) is the Management Software that we use to manage the HPE 3PAR storage arrays. SSMC provides the Graphical User Interface (GUI) on the browser through which management tasks become easy for system administrators. You can also use the Command Line Interface (CLI) options like PuTTY, 3PAR CLI etc. to manage the 3PAR arrays.
Here I will explain that how to download and install the HPE 3PAR StoreServ Management Console (SSMC). You can install this software on any machine which can access your 3PAR.
Download HPE 3PAR StoreServ Management Console (SSMC) 3.0
3PAR SSMC software can be downloaded from the HPE software site. To download the software you need a registered user, if you do not have then please first register yourself. Click on the link given below to download the HPE 3PAR StoreServ Management Console (SSMC).

Install HPE 3PAR StoreServ Management Console (SSMC) 3.0
Once SSMC software is downloaded then you are ready for the installation process. Follow the steps given below to install the IMC successfully.
- Double click on the .exe file, and files will be extracted to a temp folder. Once you see the introduction screen click on the Next button to continue.
- License Agreement: Accept the License Agreement and click on the Next button.
- Choose Installation Folder: Next screen will ask you for the installation location. The default location will be C:\Program Files\Hewlett Packard Enterprise\SSMC if you want to change it then choose another location and click on the next button to continue.
- Configure SSMC Server Secure Port: This screen will show SSMC server secure port to you, click on the next button to proceed further.
- The next screen will show the pre-installation summary. Verify the installation location that you have selected and ensure that everything is right shown on the screen. To start the actual installation of the software click on the Install button.
- The installation will be completed in a few minutes. Once everything is completed you will be taken to the installation confirmation screen, click on the Done button to quit the installer.
Set Administrator Credentials
- After successful installation, you can access your 3PAR array by launching this SSMC. When you will launch the SSMC it will show the message that Administrator Credentials Not Set. Click on the Set credential button.
- Enter the administrator credentials and click on the Set button.
- Now you can launch the SSMC and log in with the credentials which you have set in the above step.
Add Storage System
- After successful login click on the action button to add a storage system.
- To add a storage system you will be asked for IP Address, user name and password. The default user name and passwords are 3paradm and 3pardata. Click on Add button to add the storage system.
- After adding the storage system click on the Actions button and accept the certificate.
- StoreServ Management Console (SSMC) does not support the F class HPE 3PAR.
Note: Default user name and password for HPE 3PAR storage system are 3paradm and 3pardata.
